It’s All About Balance! Masque Special

As the beach days and vacations slowly come to an end this month, you may be doing a few things to transition towards the fall season. Maybe you have kids going back to school, or perhaps it’s something small, like getting yourself a pumpkin spice latte. Regardless of what you do, you do need to take your skin into consideration. The transition of seasons means your regimen needs to make some adjustments in order to keep your skin looking great in this shifting climate. Here are some Biologique Recherche masks to help you say farewell to summer, and hello to fall.

Some say it smells awful, others say it smells like chocolate. And, for some reason, dogs love it. You’ve probably heard of Masque Vivant by now, but in case you haven’t, it’s an acidic mask that makes use of yeast extracts to give you a deep cleanse that leaves your skin soft and exfoliated. This mask is perfect if you need to get rid of congestion, acne, and oiliness, or if you just need to re-balance your complexion.

Another mask in the Biologique Recherche line is Masque Biomagic, which derives its oil and acne fighting properties from white clay. Biomagic is great both as a full face mask to tighten your pores and energize your skin, or to spot treat pimples and prevent them from becoming worse. This mask is ideal if you have oily skin, or if used to spot treat combination skin.

When the dry, cold air of fall inevitably comes in, you’ll need something to keep your skin hydrated. Creme Masque Vernix uses the ideal mix of proteins, fats, and antioxidant peptides to do the job, leaving your skin soft, soothed, and hydrated. This mask is suited for dryer and sensitive skin instances, as it will help repair your lipid barrier, allowing your skin to stay protected and lock in moisture.

While the days become shorter and the air gets colder, don’t forget to give your skin some help during this time of transition. Products suited for your complexion in the summer may not work as the climate changes, so take a look at your regimen and make changes as needed to keep your skin healthy.

Leave It Alone

For many of us, our teenage years weren’t exactly the best time for our skin. Wild hormones and a lack of skincare knowledge lead to all sorts of issues, one of the most common being acne. For some, those days are far behind and acne has gone with it. But, for others, those spots have left their mark in the form of scarring that can last years beyond high school. Thankfully, Biologique Recherche has products tailored for this particular issue, so you can finally say farewell to acne scars for good.
Serum Placenta is a repairing serum that not only heals post-acne scarring, but also soothes breakouts. It also restores suppleness and tone to your skin, giving Serum Placenta an anti-aging effect. And, if that’s not enough, it can also be used to lighten dark circles under the eyes and pigment spots. If your skin needs intensive healing, then add Serum Placenta to your regimen!
A great companion to this serum is Lotion P50 PIGM400. This version of P50 is specifically made to deal with pigmentation dark spots, such as those caused by acne scars. It is also less acidic than regular Lotion P50, making it suitable for sensitive skin as well. Lotion P50 PIGM 400 is invaluable when you need to even out your complexion.
Creme aux Acides de Fruits is yet another great combatant against acne scars. This cream works by brightening your complexion, reducing the appearance of acne scars and other forms of hyper-pigmentation. It also works to revitalize stressed and dull complexions with its natural moisturizing properties, leaving your skin soft and smooth. With Serum Placenta’s intensive healing, Lotion P50 PIGM400’s intense, but gentle, targeting of dark spots, and Creme aux Acides de Fruits’ brightening and revitalizing properties, acne scars can be a thing of the past and stay there for good. Whether the scarring may be from your school days many, many years ago or recently, all of these products can help restore your skin and keep it acne free.

Eat Your Water

While some people may not realize it, hydration is an essential part of skincare. And while moisturizing the outside of your skin is a step in the right direction, keeping your entire body hydrated also plays a key factor in skin health. However, there’s a lot of conflicting information out there about how much water you should drink. Is it eight 8oz glasses? 2 liters? Or 37 glasses a day, as one football player suggested?

The truth is, it’s most likely none of these statistics will apply to any of us. 37 glasses would drown most of us, and even the eight 8oz glasses is a bit much. While our bodies do need water to survive, they can only process so much at once. In normal conditions, your kidneys can only process around ¼-½ a liter of water an hour. Drink over this amount, and your body will only absorb what it needs and simply flush out the rest, leaving you with no extra benefits.

So, what’s the best way to get your water? Eat it. Fruits and vegetables provide the hydration you need, but it isn’t processed all at once. Instead, as your food is digested, it’s slowly released into your system and you’re less likely to just flush water out. Along with getting healthy vitamins and fiber, you will also have a glowing complexion, thanks to your skin being able to retain the right amount of water.

Instead of carrying around a gallon jug and painstakingly forcing yourself to drink, reconsider how much water your body needs. Drink it, or eat it, in healthy ways, and your skin will thank you for it.

Is It a Luxury or Necessity?

How often do you get a professional facial treatment and do you see it as pampering? When it comes to our bodies, we consider our health a necessity. Eating healthy food, going to the doctor when we are sick, and making sure everything is in working order is rightfully considered a requirement for good health.

However, when it comes to our skin, doing anything for it is merely considered a luxury. Despite being our body’s largest organ, caring for it is seen as pampering rather than a necessity, unlike what we do for the rest of ourselves.
Beyond the cosmetic applications of skincare, there are medical reasons for your regular visits to the spa.

First off, keeping your skin properly cleaned and balanced can prevent painful and unsightly problems in the future. The pollution we expose ourselves to daily builds up over time and eventually leads to the formation of pimples, cysts, and thinned skin. Taking the time to cleanse your skin every day will prevent these problems down the line.

Another glaring problem prevented by proper skincare is sun damage. Sun spots are unsightly, sure, but the bigger issue with it is skin cancer. On sunny days, protecting yourself from harmful UV rays is a must, and a gentle sunscreen comes highly recommended.

While your spa day doesn’t have to be as serious as a doctor’s appointment, it shouldn’t be seen as frivolous pampering. Instead, see it as a form of care that your body needs. Healthy skin is a part of a healthy you!
